What is the Interdenominational Cooperation Fund?
The Interdenominational Cooperation Fund is one of seven apportionment funds designated to support ministries and causes important to the entire United Methodist Church. This fund supports efforts to build partnerships and foster cooperation between the United Methodist Church and other Christian denominations.
Apportionment funds are a way United Methodist churches work together to support meaningful ministry. By giving through this system, churches combine their resources to accomplish more than any single congregation could alone.
Why Does It Matter?
The Interdenominational Cooperation Fund matters because the church’s mission is stronger when Christians and faith communities work together. Building partnerships across denominations and faith traditions helps foster justice, peace, and unity—key values that reflect Christ’s love. By standing united, the church can more effectively respond to complex global challenges like poverty, racism, and religious persecution. These relationships remind us that we are part of a larger faith community called to support one another and make a meaningful impact in the world.
What Does My Giving Support?
Apportionment funds give us a chance to focus our prayers and support on important ministries all year long—uniting our gifts to multiply our impact. Your giving to the Interdenominational Cooperation Fund—through your local United Methodist church—supports partnerships with ecumenical and interfaith organizations around the world. It helps fund collaborative efforts that promote justice, peace, and Christian unity.
Through your generosity, the church is able to engage in meaningful dialogue, joint outreach, and shared ministries that address global challenges such as poverty, racism, and religious persecution. Your support strengthens the church’s witness and expands its ability to serve alongside others in faith and compassion.
How Can I Be Part of the Ministry?
You can be part of this ministry by giving through your local church and participating in or supporting ecumenical activities and partnerships in your area. Your generosity helps the church live out Christ’s call to unity and love across denominational lines.
