What is the Africa University Fund?
The Africa University Fund is one of seven apportionment funds designated to support ministries and causes important to the entire United Methodist Church. This fund supports Africa University, a United Methodist institution of higher learning located in Zimbabwe. The university serves students from across the African continent and helps prepare future leaders for the church and the world.
Apportionment funds are how United Methodist churches work together to support meaningful ministry. Instead of each congregation trying to do everything on its own, we combine our giving to make a greater impact—together.
Why Does It Matter?
The Africa University Fund matters because education changes lives and communities. Africa University equips students with the knowledge, skills, and values they need to lead with integrity in their home countries—many of which face poverty, conflict, and limited access to higher education.
