Leaders from nine Asian countries gathered February 5-10, 2026, for the Asian Young Women’s Leadership Development Seminar. This year’s event was held in partnership with The United Methodist Church’s Board of Women’s Work in the Philippines.
Participants came from the Philippines, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, and Malaysia. It was a celebration of diverse cultures, where young women from different Asian countries embraced renewed commitment and liberation from the chains of fear.
The event was part of Wesley Zaidan-Foundation’s effort to empower women for transformation all over Asia with the theme, “Rooted in God.” Carrying the call to courageously stay rooted in faith despite facing a patriarchal system.
During the program, participants were exposed to the realities of the different communities in the Philippines: The Manila North Cemetery Community, women living with HIV, and the community of persons with disabilities. The exposure allowed the delegates to see the importance of walking with the people.
Wesley Zaidan Foundation takes inspiration from the ministries of women leaders in the Philippines, particularly the commitment of women leaders who serve at the grassroots level.
The seminar opened the eyes of everyone to see the painful lived realities of women across Asia and appreciate the faith and collective movement that empower them to rise and lead.
