In 1980, The United Methodist Church in the Philippines and Methodist International Church in Hong Kong established a partnership to serve overseas Filipino workers. The humble fellowship became a sanctuary for Filipino migrants, and it continues to nurture spiritual development and a community of faith.
The ministry provides 24-hour refuge, legal assistance, mental health debriefing, and counseling for terminated workers. By walking alongside people during difficult seasons, they are reminded that they are not alone.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to serve, care for, and empower Filipinos wherever they may be. As the ministry continues, MIC Hong Kong and The United Methodist Church remain steadfast in building a community of faith that welcomes, protects, and journeys with every Filipino migrant.
