Bible quiz equips young people in the Philippines

In today’s ever-changing world, the Philippines Regional Conference of The United Methodist Church continues to place importance on the Bible by ensuring that the youth of this generation recognize the role of Scripture as a guide for faith, moral discernment, and faithful discipleship.

The Board of Communications, Christian Education, and Discipleship (BCED) organized the 13th National Bible Quiz in 2026 in partnership with the Philippine Bible Society to promote biblical literacy among youth.

Forty-one finalists from across the Philippines’ annual conferences competed both in junior and senior categories. After a series of challenging Bible knowledge tests, Leyza Valdoz (seniors level) and Princess Del Rosario (juniors level), who are both from Central Luzon Philippines Annual Conference, won the grand prize of 50,000 pesos and a trip to Hong Kong.

Church leaders highlighted that beyond the competition, the event celebrates faith, discipline, and a deeper love for God’s word. Chairperson of the National Bible Quiz Committee, Jovito Sermonia, Jr., said that the team wants to encourage the future generation of the youth to take part in this event.
