Marvin United Methodist Church is seeking a talented, dedicated, and faith-centered Part-Time Pianist to join our church family and help lead our congregation in worship through music.
We are looking for someone who has a love for music, enjoys working with others, and is passionate about using their musical gifts to enrich our worship experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide piano accompaniment for weekly Sunday worship services beginning at 10:30 AM.
- Help guide the church choir, holding rehearsals as often as needed to prepare music for Sunday worship.
- Collaborate with the pastor based on the sermon each week to prepare a blend of traditional and contemporary hymns that complement the worship service. For example, providing music during Prelude, Hymns during worship, and Postlude/Benediction.
- Coordinate special musical selections and performances for holidays and other special services, including Easter and Christmas, as scheduling and participation allow.
- Work collaboratively with the pastor and church leadership to support the music ministry and overall worship experience.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in piano and the ability to accompany congregational singing.
- Familiarity with both traditional hymns and contemporary Christian music.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A heart for ministry and a desire to share the message of faith through music.
*Salary will be discussed during the interview process and will be based on experience and qualifications.
