Position Details

The ideal candidate for this position is an enthusiastic leader who thrives in a collaborative environment and who can provide visionary leadership for the children’s, youth and family ministries at Okemos Community Church. Key qualifications include a degree in church, religious studies, or equivalent professional experience developing and implementing discipleship programming for children, youth, and families.

About our Ministry

Okemos Community Church has a strong children’s and youth ministry, including a staffed nursery on Sunday mornings, Sunday School for children 4 years old through 8th grade, and a youth group. The Sunday School program has grown in recent years to serve more than 35 children, and the youth program has revived a tradition of participating in a week-long summer mission trip out of state. As the church has welcomed a significant number of new families with children and youth over the past 2+ years, we are seeking a staff member who can continue developing and strengthening this ministry to include additional children, youth, and families.

  • Maintain the church’s relationships and connection with college students
