Salem United Methodist Church is seeking a full-time energetic, relationship-focused Spiritual Formation Coordinator to help children, youth, young adults, and families grow in their faith and connect more deeply with God, one another, and the church community.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about Christian discipleship, enjoys working with people of all ages, and wants to make a meaningful impact through creative programming, mentoring, and community engagement.

As a key member of our ministry team, you'll have the opportunity to lead innovative educational experiences, empower volunteers, build relationships with young people and families, and help shape the future of our congregation.

What You'll Do

Build Faith Formation Opportunities

·   Develop engaging small groups, Bible studies, and discipleship opportunities for children, youth, young adults, and adults.

·   Plan intergenerational events, seasonal activities, and outreach opportunities that strengthen community connections.

Invest in Young People

• Build relationships with children, youth, young adults, and their families.

• Help young people discover and use their gifts.

Recruit and Empower Volunteers

• Recruit, train, support, and celebrate volunteers serving in educational ministries.

• Identify and develop new leaders within the congregation.

Communicate and Collaborate

• Promote ministry opportunities through social media, the church website, newsletters, and other communication channels.

Support Ministry Operations

• Assist with planning and managing ministry budgets.

• Help maintain Salem UMC's Safe Sanctuaries policies and procedures.

• Stay current on best practices in faith formation, family ministry, and discipleship.

• Appreciates and supports the theology and mission of The United Methodist Church.

• Is organized, adaptable, and comfortable balancing multiple responsibilities.

• Communicates effectively in person, online, and through written materials.

• Values teamwork and enjoys working alongside staff and volunteers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Christian education, youth ministry, family ministry, education, nonprofit leadership, or a related field.

• Familiarity with social media, digital communication tools, and basic website updates.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
