Media Director

Full-Time  |  On-Site  |  Reports to Senior Pastor

Objective

Lead and grow the media ministry at Franklin First UMC — supporting Sunday worship, building a self-sufficient volunteer team, and maintaining the systems and equipment that keep our services running well week to week.

Skills

  • Live A/V production — audio, video, and presentation software (ProPresenter preferred)
  • Volunteer recruitment, training, and scheduling
  • Live stream management and podcast production
  • Equipment inventory, maintenance, and budget planning
  • Clear communication with pastoral and worship leadership
  • Self-directed and highly motivated — this role operates with significant autonomy

Expectations

  • Present and leading production for Sunday services each week
  • Build and develop a volunteer team that can operate independently
  • Maintain consistent quality for both in-room and online worship
  • Coordinate with staff on content, scheduling, and upcoming events
  • Keep equipment inventory current and flag maintenance needs proactively
  • Manage your own schedule and priorities without day-to-day supervision

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in live production, A/V, or church media
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a volunteer team
  • Working knowledge of digital audio consoles, video switching, and presentation software
  • Podcast production and distribution experience a plus
  • Degree in a related field preferred; relevant experience considered

Responsibilities

  • Oversee A/V production for three Sunday morning services (8:30, 10:00, and 11:15 AM)
  • Manage live streaming and weekly sermon podcast
  • Recruit, train, and schedule a team of volunteers and paid crew across audio, video, and ProPresenter roles
  • Provide A/V support for recurring events throughout the month
  • Maintain equipment inventory across all worship spaces
  • Coordinate with Communications Director on social media content workflow
  • Manage capital equipment requests and maintenance coordination
