UnifyingForImpact.org launched as proposed agency unification hub
Nashville, Tenn. — As agency unification groundwork continues, Discipleship Ministries, Global Ministries (GBGM), Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM), and United Methodist Communications (UMCom) have launched UnifyingForImpact.org, a dedicated website designed to serve as the central source of information and updates on the proposal to unify the four agencies into a single connectional ministry agency.
The website, hosted on the denomination’s leader-focused ResourceUMC.org site, provides information and resources to help ministry partners across The United Methodist Church better understand the proposal and discover ways they can support it. The site will serve as the go-to on-demand home to access accurate, timely information about the proposal.
Stemming from the agencies’ commitment to be transparent and offer clarity throughout the process, in addition to information and news, the website offers and will include:
- Updated Frequently Asked Questions
When the proposal was announced in April 2026, an initial FAQ document was included. Since then, the agencies have received additional questions from church leaders and members. Listening carefully to that early feedback, the agencies have updated and expanded their Frequently Asked Questions resource which now resides on the website.
- Ask A Question Feature
Recognizing that outlying questions may still exist, the website also features an “Ask A Question” button and form that allows church leaders and members to submit questions directly to the inter-agency alignment team and agency support staff. Questions submitted through this feature will be considered as the team continues its work to form legislation, and responses to recurring inquiries may be incorporated into future updates to the FAQ.
The submission of questions related to the crafting of the legislation is particularly encouraged before July 1, 2026, when work gets underway on drafting the proposal and legislation. Though questions are welcome at any time.
- Delegate Resources (Coming Soon)
Once legislation has been formally submitted, UnifyingForImpact.org will serve as the hub for delegate-specific educational materials and events. These resources will be designed to help General Conference delegates engage with and understand the proposed legislation as they prepare to vote at the 2028 General Conference.
Ministry partners, church leaders, and members are encouraged to visit UnifyingForImpact.org today to explore the proposal, review the FAQ, and submit any questions they may have. Setting a bookmark for the page is recommended, as new details and resources will be added as they become available.Draft legislation will be brought to each agency’s fall 2026 board meeting for additional evaluation and vote.
Pending approval of legislation at the 2028 General Conference, the unified connectional ministries agency will be established effective on or after January 1, 2029.
