Service projects by the Boy Scouts of America can be seen all around St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. Scouts who meet at the church help maintain the church grounds, set up flags on special days, and have made benches that sit in a greenspace.
Troop leaders say community service is a major component of Scouting and the boys try to do a service project monthly. For church members, a display of 100 American flags around the church to mark holidays is a favorite sight. Boy Scout ministries at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church include programs for boys ages 6 to 20.
