Book Review Archive

For several years, UMC.org published a critical review of a recently released book, generally a work of fiction. Books were reviewed through a kind of spiritual lens, as opposed to focusing on the art of writing itself; we look for what the work seems to be saying about relationships, values and the human condition. Each review included a study guide, complete with questions and activities for further exploration. These study guides were developed for the individual or small groups.

Beginning in 2007, we have discontinued our original book reviews. We hope our archive of reviews will continue to be of use to you and your book or study group. We hope to forge partnerships with other organizations that will enable us to contiue to highlight books of particular interest in the future.
