United Methodist Anthem: “Able” Lyrics

United Methodists are raising their voices to celebrate the success of Imagine No Malaria, an effort to eliminate deaths from the preventable disease. Nashville songwriters created the song “Able” and “American Idol” contender Jeremy Rosado is the performer. The song debuted during the United Methodist General Conference on May 18, 2016 as part of a salute to the Imagine No Malaria campaign. “Today has been an incredible celebration of what God has done through the unified effort of the people of The United Methodist Church,” said Bishop Thomas Bickerton, chair of the Global Health Initiative. “Imagine No Malaria has been successful because of how it energized people who got excited about saving people’s lives. And today, we rejoiced in that success and the people who have made it possible.”

Able (Lyrics)

Our God is able, more than able

To do more than we can ask or imagine

Our God is able, more than able

To do more than we can ask or imagine

We serve a God who swings wide the door

To welcome the poor, the lost and lonely

God makes a way when God’s people pray

So let’s start today, our faith is growing

Rise up! All God’s children rise up!

Our God is able, more than able

To do more than we can ask or imagine

Our God is able, more than able

To do more than we can ask or imagine

We come to God with hearts that are open

Working for justice, hope and healing

Your hand in my hand, let’s take a stand

And we’ll show the world what we believe in

Rise up! All God’s children rise up!

Our God is able, more than able

To do more than we can ask or imagine

Our God is able, more than able

To do more than we can ask or imagine

Anogona Jesu, anogona

Anogona Jesu, anogona

Anogona Jesu, anogona

Anogona Jesu, anogona

Anogona Jesu

Our God is able, more than able

To do more than we can ask or imagine

Our God is able, more than able

To do more than we can ask or imagine

Our God is able, more than able

To do more than we can ask or imagine

Our God is able, more than able

To do more than we can ask or imagine

Our God is able!
