There is much to celebrate in the life of the Church, and we are awed by the remarkable ways God is at work through the lives of the millions of people around the world, the people called United Methodist. People of the ChurchFrom 1999 to 2009, membership grew by 25% around the world. Support of The ChurchLocal churches in the U.S. reported more than $6.15 billion in contributions in 2009. Future of The ChurchFive initiatives have been developed to engage leadership in the process of redirecting attention, energy and resources of the denomination toward creating vital congregations. ConclusionThe people of The United Methodist Church are called to live out our mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
