Administrative Services Ministry Is the Focus at
The General Council on Finance and Administration

“Serving the Church through the ministry of administration” is the mission of the General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA). Guided not only by its mission, the board and staff also look to scripture, particularly 1 Corinthians 3:9a, as the agency seeks ways to work with others to fulfill the agency’s servant ministry and the mission of The United Methodist Church.

GCFA is charged by Discipline to care for the administrative, legal and financial needs of the Church. In addition to departmental services as listed on this site, GCFA works with other boards and agencies and organizations outside the Church to offer several programs and services that will assist annual conferences and local churches throughout the connection with their administrative ministries.

Annual Conference Officer Quadrennial Training Event February 20-22, 2009

Registration Now Open
A leadership event offering practical position training for persons serving as Treasurers, Secretaries, Statisticians, Finance and Administration Chairpersons, Equitable Compensation Chairpersons, and Presidents of Trustees at the conference level. Hope Comes to the Global Economy in Real Terms

2009 – 2012 Financial Commitment Booklet Available Online and in Print
Following the actions of the 2008 General Conference, the Financial Commitment Booklet for the 2009-2012 quadrennium for The United Methodist Church has been prepared by The General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA). This booklet includes the spending plan for the next quadrennium as approved by the General Conference and provides background information on spending trends within the Church. read more... 2009 Annual Conference Apportionments:
This report shows the 2009 jurisdictional annual conference apportionments for the seven general funds, in accordance with the apportionment formula approved by the 2008 General Conference.

Local Church Survey being conducted
The Office of Analysis and Research will conduct a survey to get local church responses to questions on congregational life - providing insights on worship styles, ministries, age demographics, etc. Click here for details...
