Young Food Network Star Cooks for Church
United Methodists love the food and fellowship of church dinners and potluck suppers. Christ United Methodist Church in Lansdale, PA is blessed to have a celebrity chef in the kitchen,11-year-old Lucy Chelton. Lucy is a Food Network champ and one of the Amazing Kids of The United Methodist Church.
Lucy Chelton: “I LOVE cooking with my dad.”
Years before she became a celebrity chef, Lucy Chelton found her passion, standing on a step stool, cooking with her dad.
The Rev. Eric Chelton, Christ United Methodist Church: “She kept telling us she wanted to go on a cooking show and we just did it to appease her. She was only nine years old.”
Serving up rattlesnake nuggets, Lucy won Season 3 of “Chopped Junior” on the Food Network and shared part of her 10,000 dollar winnings with the local food bank.
Lucy Chelton, Christ United Methodist Church: “By being on 'Chopped' I learned that I can do more things than I thought I could."
