Their rabbi was gone from their physical presence. They lived in an era when turmoil greatly influenced the power structure all around them. And the gospels — our guide to the life and lessons taught by Jesus — didn’t exist yet. Still, members of the early church launched a movement that grew into what we now call Christianity. How did their actions more than 2,000 years ago blossom into the church that serves the risen Christ today? Throughout Lent, participants in this online Bible study will read the book of Acts with some brief journeys into portions of the letters written within the chronology of this book that records the history of the early church. Through the reading and discussion, we will learn together what we can learn from Acts that can help us along our faith journey today.
