Scripture speaks of the importance of passing along family memories: “Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts, let them proclaim your power.” Psalm 145:4 NLT “So the next generation might know them – even the children not yet born – and they in turn will teach their own children.” Psalm 78:6 NLT ATTENTION PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS, AUNTS, UNCLES…!!! Let’s spend some time this summer researching and preserving your unique family heritage. This can be a blessing for you and your family and future generations. You and they can learn from the events, thoughts, and growth in your life and in the lives of your ancestors, even from those things that may seem uninteresting, unimportant and dull. Why create a family history? *People want to know who they are and where they came from. *A family history can help you gain knowledge and appreciation for those who have gone before you, where and how they lived, why they made the choices they made, and how they shaped the family’s future. *It will help you gain greater understanding of yourself and how you fit in the overall picture of your family. *It will help preserve family stories for future generations. Classes are held one hour each Thursday evening (7:00 PM – 8:00 pm CST). This course is eligible for 1.5 CEU.
