We are active and founding members of the Hill Country Community Ministries and Whitestone Elementary School education connection, a reading program. We sponsor ESL and GED classes on our premises every Monday and Friday. We also sponsor local Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops.

| Cub Scout Pack 158 | 6:00 PM | Weekly, Mondays | <font color="#4d4d4d" face="Open Sans"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.3px; background-color: rgb(248, 248, 248);">Cub Scout Pack 158 in Cedar Park is hosted by the First United Methodist Church. Cub Scout Pack 158 is part of the Capital Area Council housed in Austin, Texas and is part of the Boy Scouts of America program. Boys are invited to join the Cub Scout program who are in 1st-5th grade (graduated kindergarten) or 7-10 years of age. Programming for Cub Scouts is centered on fun, development learning around Citizenship, Physical Fitness, Care in the Outdoors, and always “Doing your best” in whatever activity to just name a few themes. The family is the center of the program and you will often see 1 or more parents helping with the den meeting or being involved with the youth member throughout. As a Pack (meaning multiple age dens), we meet once a month. As dens, meaning age group specific small groups, we meet once a week except on Pack Meeting weeks. We invite anyone to stop by and visit our pack and learn more about the Cub Scout program. | Easy Line Dancing | 1:00 PM | Weekly, Wednesdays | <div><span style="font-size: 13px;">Our beginner line dance class welcomes everyone that wants to move and have fun. It is exercise that does not seem like exercise. If you are counting steps, one song can be as many as 100 steps and it is done in an air-conditioned room. This is not a serious competitive class, we laugh and talk and get to know each other over an hour of fun. Everyone is welcome no matter what your skill level may be. We meet in the Sanctuary every Wednesday at 1:00 pm and it is a free class. | Girl Scout Troop 2101 | 6:30 PM | EQ=DAILY | <span style="color: rgb(77, 77, 77); font-family: "Open Sans"; font-size: 13px; letter-spacing: 0.3px; background-color: rgb(248, 248, 248);">Our Girl Scout troop 2101 has currently 6 girls in it, all in sixth grade this year, and all just “bridged” into Cadettes! We completed our Bronze Award as juniors, which we earned by noting a need within the community, and taking action. That need happened to be the butterfly garden at the church! We wanted to help nurture your butterfly garden, clean up some leaves, and provide a place for Monarch butterflies to lay eggs. We planted some milkweed and other butterfly-attracting plants. We love meeting at your church and wanted a way to give back. We are always looking for service opportunities so please keep us in mind whenever you need a hand. Our leaders’ names are Dana Nathanson and Becky Jones. We meet at 6:30 pm on the first and third Tuesdays of every month. | Meals on Wheels Ministry | 9:00 AM | Weekly, Fridays | In cooperation with NW Austin & Williamson County program<div><br></div><div><div><br></div><div>Delivering a meal to a senior can be very rewarding. Meals are delivered 5 days per week. Some volunteer to deliver one day each week. Some do just one day per month. The meals are cooked, packed and ready for pickup around 10:30 or 11:00 am, The route varies between 10 to 20 meals each. It takes about an hour to deliver them all. Some seniors like to chat a bit and others are not so talkative. If you would like to participate in delivering meals to seniors call Carolyn Berry known as “Carrie” Berry at 512-259-0288. | Square Dancing Group | 7:00 PM | Weekly, Wednesdays | <div><a href="https://cpfumc.org/adults/#squaredancing">Buckles & Bows Square Dance Club</a> meets every Thursday evening at Cedar Park First United Methodist Church from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. We enjoy Square dancing, which is Fun, Fitness, and Friendship set to music. You will not find another hobby like square dancing which is a great social equalizer, is inexpensive, combines the best of both art and science, is relaxing, stimulating and challenging at the same time, and lets you meet new friends. Square dancing contributes to a healthier and independent lifestyle.</div><div><br></div><div>Everyone is welcome; couples, singles and pre-teens (ages 10 & up) to learn to dance, as it is a great family activity. We use a variety of music to suite all tastes. Square Dancing takes several weeks to learn, so lessons are offered in the spring and fall, and each week lessons are “dances with instruction”.
