God’s greatest desire is to be your dwelling place—the home of your heart. He doesn’t want to be merely a weekend getaway. He has no interest in being a Sunday bungalow or even a weekend getaway. He wants to be your mailing address, your point of reference, your home…now and always. He wants you to live in the great House of God; the very promise of his Son, Jesus Christ.

Here at Midway U.M.C., everything we do is an effort to make our church family a foretaste of our heavenly home. We have tried to build a spiritual “home away from home” at Midway, all the time realizing that our one true dwelling is with God. Our goal is that here, you’ll find more than simply bricks and stained-glass windows and a “pit stop” on the busy highway of life. Instead, we strive to make Midway U.M.C. all that we hope to find in heaven: a place of Sabbath and sanctuary, providing shelter when the cold winds of this world blow against us…a setting for wonder, awe and praise as we find ourselves in the presence of our Resurrected Lord…and a fellowship of joy and renewal as we experience the depth of God’s glory and constant care and grace.

I encourage you to find your ultimate home in Jesus, and an earthly equivalent here at this church. At Midway, we commit ourselves to building a house of God in this community and for this world through practical biblical teaching, dynamic worship, and cultivating a caring heart for service.
