FIND A CHURCH
We welcome you to Oxford Colonial United Methodist Church! We are the stone church located in the heart of Oxford, across from the Shippen Manor, and adjacent to the Oxford Furnace. Our building is the historical Grist Mill for the furnace. It was made into a church in the early 1900's. The congregation however dates back to the 1850's, and had occupied a building now gone. We are a small church with a family atmosphere. We have wonderful programs for children and youth, and are known for our Sunday school.
What To Expect
At 9am on Sunday the church is bustling with activity, as Sunday school takes over every square inch of the church. The Sunday School Superintendent and the teachers are enthusiastic and the kids are, too. We also have a wonderful VBS in the summer, and many other family programs for kids and adults.
The Youth group meets twice a month or more, and is involved in many activities.
The church quiets down for Worship at 10:45am, but enjoys the several concerts by the Sunday School Choir.
Worship is laid-back, come as you are, and a friendly mix of traditional and more contemporary elements.
The Pastor, Sandy Santangelo has been appointed as a Local Licensed Pastor as of July 1st 2015. She has been certified by the DCOM as a candidate for Ordained Ministry as is currently pursuing the educational requirements. She also works full time as a Controller/Finance professional in Lower Manhattan. She has a passion for worship, discipleship, youth and music. Sandy is also the Pastor at Summerfield UMC in Belvidere.
