2018 United Methodist Prayers
All of us are on a spiritual journey and one way we hope to walk alongside you is by offering prayers and mediations on UMC.org. In 2018, we published some new prayer content meant to inspire church members and relate to our Wesleyan tradition and history. Those listed below are just a few of the prayers found on the site. We hope you will find them useful in your faith life and will share them with those around you.
Blessing for Those Who Wait
There are countless ways humans wait. This short video reflection reminds those waiting in fear and sadness that God offers comfort and strength.
Prayer for Animals
Our social principles remind us that all Creation is the Lord’s, and we are responsible for the ways in which we use and abuse it. This prayer celebrates our delicate coexistence with the animals of the Earth.
A Prayer for My Grandchildren
In Proverbs 17:6, we are reminded, ‘Children’s children are a crown to the aged.’ And United Methodists affirm the importance of strong families. This short video reflection lifts up the hopes and prayers that grandparents have for their grandchildren daily.
United Methodist Meditation for All Saints Day
John Wesley wrote about November 1 as “a festival I truly love.” Every day, Christians are called to honor the witnesses who have gone before us. This video reflection can be used to remember those past and present whose examples inspire your own faith journey.
We hope this content will enrich your personal prayer life throughout the year. Discover more prayers.
