Malaria kills. Every 30 seconds a child dies from malaria.

The United Methodist Church has joined forces with partners such as the United Nations Foundation to combat this preventable and curable disease. Through support of collaborative efforts like the Nothing But Nets Campaign and UMCOR's Community-based Malaria Program, United Methodists are providing medications, bed nets and health education in places like Sierra Leone, Cote d'Ivoire and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

By answering Jesus' call to "minister to the least of these who are members of our family," we can make net gains against this deadly disease and save future generations.

Stories from Cote d'Ivoire:
During the week of November 10, approximately 1,000 volunteers from the Cote d’Ivoire Conference, along with 35 members from the Texas Conference, distributed 800,000 bed nets to protect children in Cote d’Ivoire from malaria.
