Liberia

In 2007, Liberia became the first country to pilot the Central Conference Pension Initiative. In the two years since, more than 500 retirees and surviving spouses in need of retirement income have received quarterly pension payments.

Liberia's retired United Methodist pastors and surviving spouses receive US$60 every three months. The church’s lay and clergy workers serve a conference of more than 170,000 United Methodists.

For more information on how to get involved, go to ccpi.umc.org or email ccpi@gbophb.org. Donations can be made online or by calling 847-866-4230.

The Central Conference Pension Initiative (CCPI) is a long-term solution that provides retirement financial security for dedicated church leaders and surviving spouses who would otherwise have little or nothing.

Your charitable gifts will help establish and fund pension programs in conferences where support is greatly needed.
