United Methodist college students Imagine What’s NEXT

Denver, Colo.: Hundreds of United Methodist college students will gather November 7-9 in Denver, Colo. for Imagine What’s NEXT, a weekend of discernment, fellowship, worship and inspiration. The theme for this year’s event is “Dream. Go. Do.”

NEXT is organized by a launch team of college students, campus ministers and other creative disciples from across the United Methodist connection, and is sponsored by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry’s Division of Higher Education.

“At NEXT, we focus on empowering students to engage their faith and their passions, mobilize others and create change in their communities and their world,” said Beth Ludlum, director of Student Faith and Leadership Formation at the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry. “Students hear from their peers and other young adults who have utilized digital media, art, music and community organizing practices to start new ministries or movements.”

Through a series of short talks, speakers and leaders will discuss innovative discipleship and will challenge students to consider their own next steps in their communities and future vocations. Students and leaders will also engage in dynamic worship, imaginative play and small group discussions.

Scheduled speakers include Tyler Ward, Leia Williams, Ismail Pathan, Sarah O’Brien and inspirational recording artist JLyrik. On Saturday night, November 8, NEXT will host a worship concert in downtown Denver featuring recording artist Jimmy Needham.
