Record number of conferences give 100 percent

Jersey City churches find creative fixes
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (UMNS) – Faced with smaller attendance and growing debt, Christ United Methodist Church here plans to tear down its building in favor of a new, mixed-use structure that will serve the congregation while providing low-cost senior housing and other mission and revenue opportunities. Other local United Methodist churches face “regenerative” challenges and opportunities, reports Josh Kinney for the Greater New Jersey Conference.
