Department Mission:  Provide an environment where people will be empowered to engage with God through Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit through worship and the arts.

Ministry Description:

In coordination with the Director of Worship & Arts/Organist, this position provides music for worship services (including weddings & funerals) and accompanist duties as assigned.  This fellowship also offers opportunity for person to immerse themselves in many areas of music ministry (arts and administration), thereby equipping them with a breath of skills to serve the local church throughout their career.

Qualifications and Skills: 

Experience working in the local church is desirable
Adaptability to a wide range of musical genres
Desire to cultivate general skills in worship & arts ministry in a large, local church setting
Personable and friendly attitude and ability to work in a team environment

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in organ performance and/or church music required

Classification:  This position is a non-exempt, part-time position.

Work Schedule:  This position is 25-hours per week.  Employee must be able to work the following times for rehearsals, meetings, and services listed below, plus be available for weddings and funerals as needed.  Other hours will be for practice and other tasks as listed in Ministry Responsibilities section or as assigned by the Director of Worship & Arts.

                Weekly Saturday evening service (6:00p)                      4:30p – 7:30p
                Sunday morning services (as needed)                             8:15a & 11:05a
                Weekly department meetings                                           Tuesdays, 1:00p – 2:30p
                Weekly rehearsals (School Year)                                      Sundays, 7:00p – 8:00p (Alleluia Choir)
                                                                                                          Wednesdays, 6:15p – 7:00p (Asbury Choir)
                                                                                                          Wednesdays, 8:00p – 9:00p (Sonshine Ensemble)

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit for long periods of time either in office environment or at organ console.  Ability to lift at least 25 pounds occasionally.
