Faculty Position in Christian Ethics

Wesley Theological Seminary, a seminary of The United Methodist Church in Washington, DC, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Christian Ethics, commencing July 1, 2017.

Wesley Theological Seminary is looking for candidates who are deeply rooted in and ecumenically engaged with the Christian heritage of theological ethics. A successful candidate will have a broad range of expertise in Christian ethics in order to teach introductory and specialized courses at the masters and DMin levels. Demonstrated competence in the areas of political theology, public theology and systematic theology is particularly central to the position. Scholarly expertise in social, political and economic ethics; race, gender and class analysis; and/or environmental ethics is desirable. Competence in online education will be especially advantageous. Each candidate should demonstrate her or his commitment to effective teaching, active scholarship, enthusiastic collegiality and collaborative participation in the seminary community. Rank is open, but we expect to appoint at the assistant or associate level. A PhD or ThD in Christian ethics or related discipline is required. Wesley Theological Seminary is an EEO/AA employer and is committed to diversity.
