Assistant General Secretary-Clergy Life - Division of Ordained Ministry

The successful candidate will guide the work of supervision within The United Methodist Church by providing resources for various forms of pastoral supervision and clergy support systems and by providing ongoing support for the conceptualization and implementation of systems of supervision, support and accountability within the church. 

The portfolio includes designing and implementing resources and training for supervision and support systems for bishops and district superintendents, Staff Parish Relations Committees and clergy families, assisting in the development of guidelines for the Boards of Ordained Ministry (BOM) Handbook and providing oversight for the Gathering of the Orders and Local Pastors Fellowship. The incumbent will serve as lead staff in the design and implementation of the DS/DCM orientation and collaborate with other denominational leaders in designing on-going learning opportunities for bishops and district superintendents.

The incumbent will also provide leadership and supervision for the Clergy Life Team of the Division of Ordained Ministry in consultation with the Associate General Secretary/DOM.
