Welcome

The Lissie Church is a 100-year old historic, family oriented church. It serves the small, rural community of Lissie and its neighboring towns. If you are looking for a small church where you can make a difference and everyone will know your name, you would fit in nicely at Lissie UMC.

The unique stained glassed windows hint at the style of worship we practice at Lissie. The worship services are usually traditional in nature featuring familiar hymns, passing the Peace of Christ, various creeds, a time to share and pray, reading of scripture, and a proclamation of the word.

Church can happen anywhere.  It happens when we create learning opportunities that transform lives. It happens when we create safe environments where children can play and learn. It happens when education makes the path to citizenship a little easier. And when our sacrifices help nourish students’ minds and bodies. That’s putting beliefs into action.

We have Sunday School for all ages each week at 10 AM, and yearly Vacation Bible Schools and Children's Christmas Programs. Adult Bible studies are usually held during the Spring and Fall on Sunday Evenings. We have various family fellowship events throughout the year with the highlight being the yearly Ice Cream Social and Hymn Fest held the first Sunday evening in June.
