Located in the heart of the Chapel Hill community, OUMC has offered, for more than 175 years, an environment of enrichment, care and growth.

Anchored around a rich Methodist heritage, OUMC has nurtured and encouraged generations of families and members of all ages in steady spiritual growth and in living perspectives for daily challenges - without compromising its faith foundation.

Reaching throughout diverse communities, OUMC initiates its many programs to focus on faith, love and hope. A firm trust and confidence in a God of wonder, grace and miracles lead an atmosphere of service, outreach, and study - fostering a drive to put love and faith into real action.

OUMC is thankful for its Children and Youth programs that lay early foundations of faith, fellowship and service. Our Adult programs encourage study and education for all ages and drive an environment of fellowship and service that reaches deep into the community.

Worship Styles
OUMC offers four Sunday Services: two services offer a warm environment with structured sequences of hymns, organ music, choirs, scripture and sermons while our Pathways and new Foundations services offer a more casual environment with praise songs, electric sound, multi-media support and sermons.

Sunday Education
Sunday lessons are held throughout the morning with focus on an array of interesting topics for adults, young adults, parents, high school students, middle school students, and children.

Spiritual Growth Studies
Bible studies, programs and seminars are held throughout the week. Studies might include the Disciple series, Beth Moore study, Alpha series, women’s circles, small group study, and parent-child discussions.

Youth Groups
Our active high school and middle school groups meet every Sunday evening for a light dinner, group activity and focused discussions. These groups perform many service projects throughout the community and participate in many sponsored church events.

Church can happen anywhere.  It happens when we create learning opportunities that transform lives. It happens when we create safe environments where children can play and learn. It happens when education makes the path to citizenship a little easier. And when our sacrifices help nourish students’ minds and bodies. That’s putting beliefs into action.
