Welcome

"Welcome to Woodmont – A United Methodist Community of Faith! At Woodmont, our mission is to SEEK to connect people with God's grace, SHAPE followers of Jesus, SHARE life together, and SERVE others as we transform our community and God's world for love. Our community of faith consists of people of all ages, with all kinds of backgrounds, who are at various stages on their spiritual journey.

Our Sunday morning worship experience features both an upbeat contemporary service in our Fellowship Hall and a warm traditional style service in our Sanctuary. Each week's teaching seeks to be biblically-based and culturally relevant – helping us live out our faith in a practical way in a post-modern world. Our Sundays feature music by our wonderful Woodmont Band and excellent Chancel Choir accompanied by pipe organ. On other Sundays, however, our music might feature an acoustic guitar, a banjo, a hammer dulcimer, a recorder or handbells. We hope you will take the opportunity to join us as we seek, shape, share and serve God together!"

Woodmont Scenes

Woodmont has both contemporary and traditional worship services, and dress runs from casual to 'Sunday best'. We have welcoming greeters in the Narthex and friendly congregants in the Sanctuary. Our front entry has a full ramp, the Sanctuary has designated wheelchair seating, and compact sound amplifiers are available. There is a library with comfortable seating for classes, study, or reflection.

"Woodmont lovingly supports the ministry of our children and young people. I know this because I grew up here. The adults treated us as their own children. As an adult, I know that our children see the love of God and His Church in us."

– Anne Williamson Barrett, charter member

"Good fellowship was one of the things that formed the church we started nearly fifty years ago in the South End School auditorium that would become Woodmont UMC. Caring fellowship was an important part of the early Christian church, and it continues to build our church today."

– Bertie Cranfill, charter member

What We Offer

There is something for everyone at Woodmont and we are always evolving to meet the needs of those who belong to our congregation. We nurture each other through Sunday school classes, circle meetings, Bible study groups, youth programs, monthly fellowship meals, and other activities.

We are a warm and friendly congregation and are quick to try to get new persons involved in activities that will make them feel a part of Woodmont. We provide opportunities for spiritual growth, participation in missions, and a loving nurturing environment in which to grow as Christians and as those who serve "the least, the last, and the lost."

"Woodmont has more than succeeded in fulfilling its original vision to offer a place of worship for the growing number of Methodists in our community. Our church reaches out to new families, welcomes visitors, offers numerous programs for the children and helps those in need in our community and around the world."

– Jewell & Bill Dallas, Charter Angels
