Valley & Mountain is a new United Methodist church in southeast Seattle. In September of 2010, a handful of people gathered at the pastor's home to meet one another and hear about the vision for this unconventional church. Today, V&M is a growing web of relationships among people who help one another develop spiritual maturity and work for social justice, all while rooted in the experience and celebration of God's grace. We are a very welcoming and open community... it's not a problem to be "new" because at V&M, we're all new.
V&M is a not a product for consumers, nor is it a performance for spectators. We are a community for participants. Everything we do is participatory. There is always space and room for dialogue and discussion.
Church can happen anywhere. It happens when we create learning opportunities that transform lives. It happens when we create safe environments where children can play and learn. It happens when education makes the path to citizenship a little easier. And when our sacrifices help nourish students’ minds and bodies. That’s putting beliefs into action.
