Welcome

Trinity United Methodist Church is more than a place.
We are a congregation of people from all walks of life, coming together to serve God and our community.
Everyone is welcome to share in this journey.

What is our church? It is the people. It is how God is active and real in our lives.
It is how God's Spirit pulls us together into a unique, warm, authentic family.

Come just as you are and see who we are and who we might be together.
Sunday Morning worship is at 10 a.m. - 137 Main St., Montpelier VT

Our Mission: Trinity United Methodist Church is called to become a free and fearless community where people meet and experience Jesus, grow in love for God and each other, and live fully and abundantly in Spirit-led service to the world.

There is no dress code - spoken or unspoken - for worship at Trinity, and you should see a diverse group of people whenever you stop by the church. We invite you to come exactly as you are, single, partnered, with or without kids, young or young at heart, poor or poor in spirit. We believe God meets us where we are and invites us to begin, belong, and become together, and we hope you will feel welcomed as a part of our community.

You can enter the church through the front doors on Main Street, or you may park in the lot behind the building and enter through the rear doors. The wheelchair access ramp is also located at the rear door.

Once inside, folks will greet you at either door, and you can relax in the Fellowship Hall before the service. At 9:30, we gather upstairs (between New Year's and Palm Sunday, we remain in the Fellowship Hall) for music and prayer time, followed by the worship service, beginning in full at 10. Our service is relatively relaxed and features hymns and choral music, prayers and scripture readings, children's message, sermon, and visual presentation. After the message for the children, youngsters are excused to the nursery and Sunday School, staffed at all times by at least two volunteers from the congregation, and older children are invited to stay and participate in the worship service.

On the first Sunday of each month, we celebrate Communion (the Lord's Supper) together. There are no requirements for participation in this encounter with God. All are invited to share in the bread and juice as we seek God together.

Right around eleven, our worship will conclude, but the service of the church carries on all week through studies and programs.

Church can happen anywhere.  It happens when we create learning opportunities that transform lives. It happens when we create safe environments where children can play and learn. It happens when education makes the path to citizenship a little easier. And when our sacrifices help nourish students’ minds and bodies. That’s putting beliefs into action.
