How can we as pastors live in a way that respects family obligations while modeling generosity to our congregations? Faithfully managing our finances and being wise about savings and debt is a powerful witness. Being a tithing family is great, but being deliberate about a journey to tithing may be more helpful to move folks in your congregation in that direction. We will talk about ways to lead people from where they are in generosity and how to set and achieve the goals to get where they want to be. Series Information: At Discipleship Ministries, we are seeking ways to better help churches become more effective and more intentional in the making of disciples for Jesus Christ. When a local church receives a person by profession of faith, they pledge their "prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness." All are important ingredients of a growing disciple, but often generosity is something only mentioned in the fall in "campaign season." This new webinar series will help pastors explore how we can keep generosity as a key ingredient in the recipe for making faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. Led by the Rev. Ken Sloane, Discipleship Ministries' director of stewardship and connectional ministries, these four sessions are scheduled every other Tuesday morning beginning on March 28 (April 11, 25 and May 9). We are hoping pastors will register for all and attend, or watch the recordings for the ones they can't make.
