Join fellow poetry enthusiasts for a special Poet’s Corner honoring Michael Williams. Poet Michael Williams unexpectedly passed from this life in March 2018. The Kentucky native was a beloved writer, storyteller, playwright, and pastor of several Nashville-area churches; the author or editor of twenty-one non-fiction books; and the author of two poetry chapbooks, Take Nothing for Your Journey and The Khristos Cantos, both from Finishing Line Press. His poems appear in Southern Poetry Review, Appalachian Heritage, and Still: The Journal, among other publications. Michael received the Academy of American Poets Prize while earning his PhD at Northwestern University. After retiring from West End United Methodist Church, he was the Writer/Storyteller-in-Residence at Martin Methodist College. Join his friends and family as they share his words, and some of their own words, inspired by this remarkable man. This event is free and open to the public.
