Audience: All

Join fellow poetry enthusiasts for a monthly reading by a featured local poet. Leslie LaChance is a poet, freelance writer and editor, and educator. Some of her poems, stories, and reviews have appeared in Still: The Journal, Stirring: A Literary Collection, Mead, Quiddity, Apple Valley Review, The Birmingham Poetry Review, The Greensboro Review, and Juked. Three of her poems have been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, and her poem “Left” received a Best of the Net Award from Sundress.net. She has also published a chapbook of poems, How She Got That Way, in the quartet anthology Mend & Hone from Toadlily press, and she blogs about living with Stage IV metastatic lung cancer at Sojourn & Stardust. Leslie has taught writing, film, and literature courses at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and Martin, the Webb School of Knoxville, and Volunteer State Community College. Originally from the Hudson River-Catskill Mountain region of New York, over the past three decades, Leslie has lived in East, Middle, and West Tennessee, and now makes her home in East Nashville with her husband, John, and a couple of cute dogs. This event is free and open to the public.
