April 20 1989
In Re: Request for Declaratory Decision Concerning Legality of General Board of Church and Society Action for an Economic Boycott.

Digest of Case

The Judicial Council does not have jurisdiction to consider the request because the Council's authority to issue declaratory decisions is limited to the issuance of rulings as to the constitutionality, meaning, application and effect of the Discipline or any legislation enacted by the General Conference. (Par. 2615.) (See Decisions No. 463 and 474.) At an open hearing in Dallas, Texas on April 20, 1989, Dr. Don Pike spoke for the South Central Jurisdiction and the Rev.
