The Rev. Julius Julukon Sarwolo Nelson Jr. is the vice president and dean of student affairs at the University of Liberia. He is also associate professor of Moral Philosophy and Ethics of the Department of Philosophy and Religion.

He previously served as pastor of New Horizons United Methodist Church, Toledo, Ohio, as interim pastor of Peoples United Methodist Church in Detroit, Michigan, and associate pastor of the Stephen Trowen Nagbe United Methodist Church in Monrovia. He has also been dean of the College of Theology at Gbarnga School of Theology; director of the Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries of the Liberia Conference; and acting director of the Conference Council on Ministries of the Liberia Conference, and has led delegations and represented the Liberia Conference at General Conferences and the All Africa Conference of Churches.

Nelson holds several degrees: Bachelor Of Science, Zoology, University Of Liberia; Master of Divinity, Gammon Theological Seminary, Atlanta, Georgia; Master of Arts In Youth Ministry, Columbia Theological Seminary, Decatur, Georgia; and Doctor of Ministry, United Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio.

Nelson is married to Dr. Muriel Victoria Goodridge Nelson. They have seven biological children plus many more adopted children.
