The Rev. Helen Manalac-Cunanan

The Rev. Helen Manalac-Cunanan is an ordained elder of The United Methodist Church and a full member of the Pampango Philippines Conference. Currently, she serves as the administrative pastor of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Angeles City, Philippines.
Prior to her current appointment, Manalac-Cunanan was the first woman district superintendent in the Manila Episcopal Area, serving both the East and West Pampanga districts. She is well known as a “church builder and church organizer,” with a record showing that she facilitated the organization and construction of small and big local churches, district offices, libraries and pastoral houses.
She is a member of the Commission on the Way To Move Forward of The United Methodist Church and a member of the Board of Trustees of Union Theological Seminary. She served the Board of Ordained Ministry from 1992-2016, is a past member of the Board of Trustees of Wesleyan University Philippines and taught at Wesley Divinity School. As president of the Clergy Women Association in the Manila Episcopal Area she was responsible for bringing all clergywomen in July 2015 for their National Convocation.
Manalac-Cunanan has a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary and a Master in Theological Studies from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey.
Manalac-Cunanan and her husband, Lizer, have one child.
